Jean VALAT

Jean joined the corporate department as a Junior Associate in April 2020. 

Prior to joining the law firm, Jean gained experience in the corporate area by completing two 6-month internships in the corporate departments of McDermott Will & Emery and Reed Smith in Paris. He then started in the firm by completing a 6-month internship in the corporate department. 

At Stellan Partners, Jean is actively involved in both domestic and international corporate matters. He advises clients on a wide range of corporate operations, including incorporations, national and cross-border mergers, liquidations, and corporate seat migrations. He leads teams to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency, overseeing legal research and maintaining close coordination with clients and public authorities. 

Jean has developed strong expertise in cross-border transactions, particularly in the context of the EU Mobility Directive, assisting clients with the legal structuring and implementation of complex cross-border reorganisations within the European Union. 

He is also deeply engaged in M&A transactions, contributing to the due diligence process and playing a key role in contract negotiations and transaction closings.
